Transavia Launches A Paris-Ouarzazate Air Link
The French airline Transavia will launch a direct air service between Paris/Orly and Ouarzazate as of the 7th November 2019, with two flights a week.
A partnership agreement was signed on Tuesday during the occasion of the IFTM Top Resa International Trade Fair for Tourism Professionals in Paris (1st – 4th October), by the Director General of the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) Adel El Fakir and the CEO of Transavia, Nathalie Stubler.
This agreement aims essentially at the development and the reinforcement of tourist visits from France to the various touristic destinations of Morocco.
The opening of this new line is part of the partnership agreement for the 2019/2020 winter season between ONMT and Transavia alongside the strengthening of the Nantes-Agadir line (5 flights per week).
In 2018, Transavia made 692,000 seats to Morocco available, which represents a 36% increase over the previous year, and carried 632,000 passengers to the Kingdom with an average load factor of 91%.
For winter 2019/2020, Transavia has set up a 295,000 seat offer to Morocco from France thanks in particular to the opening of new routes starting with Paris Orly/Ouarzazate (2 flights/week), Paris Orly/Nador (1 flight/week) and an increase in frequency of existing routes.
In a statement to the press on the sidelines of the signing of this agreement, Transavia's deputy general manager in charge of sales, Nicolas Henin, stressed that Morocco will once again be the number one destination country for Transavia next winter, noting that the Kingdom is an "historic" and "very important" destination for the French air carrier.
With the opening of the new Paris/Orly-Ouarzazate air link, Transavia brings to 11 the number of its destinations to Morocco, he explained, adding that his company is counting heavily on this new route to develop tourism to Africa's Hollywood.
