ABOUT FIGUIG
Want to discover Figuig? There are a thousand and one ways to do so. This historic city is well known because it still retains the imprint of its ancient buildings consisting of seven Ksars.
These characteristic Ksars by which Figuig is distinguished classify it amongst other cities that have preserved the historical inheritance of their old constructions whereas many have disappeared from other cities less fortunate.
The entire city is considered a national heritage because of its Ksars.
The palm-grove city is nestled in the heart of a circle of small mountains that form a sort of flower-shaped corolla all around it. It is in the far east of Morocco at the junction between the highlands and the north of the Sahara, at some 368 km south of Oujda and 7km from the Algerian city of Beni Ounif with a population of 12,516.
The city is, apart from its beautiful landscape, a superb city to see in terms of monuments such as that of Sawmaa Hajaria. This monument is located in the Ksar of Loudaghir, it was constructed in the 6th century of the Hegira with a height of 19m.
It has a square base and 5m from its base it becomes octagonal.
There are also the Ksars of which the Ksar Zenaga is the last to be built, it is the biggest and the most beautiful of all the Ksars of Figuig and covers half of the city.
In the vicinity, you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view that includes the fortress, the palm groves and the Zenaga mountain in the background.

Bonjour, Propirétaire d'une maison d'hôtes à Figuig -Maroc, je suis effarée de votre méconnaissance sur notre bel Oasis.
l'Oasis de Figuig est une ville extrêmement ancienne avec une longue histoire. Sa situation géographique en a fait une Oasis particulièrement écologique dont la population est soudée. Les sources d'eau chaude, souterraines ou à l'air libre, sont utilisées pour les bains ou l'irrigation des palmiers. On dénombre environ 200 000 mille palmiers dattier. Il est facile de voir la canopée qui ressemble à une gigantesque mer verte du haut du jorf.
Les Ksouriens sont accueillants et serviables. nul besoin de gardien pour votre voiture, la confiance est absolue, et vous pourrez vous promener dans les ruelles des ksours, ou regarder vivre les poissons ou grenouilles dans les grands bassins où vont jouer les enfants pendant l'été.
Les alentours de Figuig vous feront perdre la voix, écarquiller les yeux et vous rendre heureux.
