Want to discover Sidi Bennour? There are a thousand and one ways to do so. A province like no other, Sidi Bennour contains a seaside resort which has important touristic potential and which constitutes an attractive space beckoning a large number of national and international tourists.
Sidi Bennour is a city of Morocco located in the region of Casablanca-Settat. The province itself is bordered by the province of El Jadida to the north and the province of Safi to the south, it has an Atlantic coastline to the west, which houses the town of Oualidia with one of the most beautiful beaches in the kingdom.
Its seaside resort is located 75km south of El Jadida, unique because of the incredible diversity of the landscapes which surround it and by its speciality of oysters, the best in the world. It is a place that has received hundreds of fishing enthusiasts.
Besides its beautiful beaches, the province is important in the agricultural field especially in livestock breeding.
The city of Sidi Bennour is considered nowadays as the capital of Doukkala as far as breeding and agricultural production is concerned in the sense that it constitutes the most important supplier of El Jadida, Marrakech, Casablanca, and Agadir in vegetables and meat. It is also important as a sugar production centre because it has the largest sugar refinery in the kingdom. The city also has the largest market in Morocco "Souk Tlat Sidi Bennour" which is held every Tuesday. There are all types of meats, and vegetables and fruit.
It is also famous for its festivals and festivities enlivened by chikhats and abidat-rma among others. Many artists such as Fatna bent Lhoussin, Fayçal, Ould Khallouk and Stati made their original mark there. The actor Abdellatif Hilal worked in this region as a teacher.
