Want to discover Tan-Tan? There are a thousand and one ways to do so. From the desert to the ocean via the oases crossing the rivers of the south under a blazing sun, everything is perfect for a comprehensive tourist trip; this city is made to welcome you throughout the summer. Tan-Tan is a city in southern Morocco.
It is a city with a very low population density. The city is known for its port which is located 25 km from the city.
Tan-Tan is a Moroccan city located in the southwest of Morocco, 330km south of Agadir with a population of 80,000.
25km west of the city, also in the province of Tan-Tan, a second city has developed on the Atlantic Ocean: El Ouatia (also known as "Tan-Tan Beach"), which has a fishing and cargo port, industrial facilities for fish processing and a large beach.
This place is really a festival of tribes and cultures. The moussem of Tan-Tan is a meeting that brings together more than thirty nomadic tribes of the Sahara, a living testimony of the Sahrawi oral and artistic cultures. It was celebrated in September 2004 after 30 years of interruption and was recognized in 2008 by UNESCO as part of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
Come back out anyway at around 6pm, when the city comes alive slowly. This is the opportunity to stroll along the craft shops and in the crumbling but charming alleyways. Don't hesitate to take a trip into the desert by car, but be careful !
