Official Opening Of The Kelaat Mgouna Rose Festival

The official opening of the Rose Festival of Kelaa Mgouna was Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 3pm, in the presence of the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, Aziz Akhanouch.

Employment and economic dynamics are at the heart of the 57th edition of the International Perfume Rose Show at Kelaa Mgouna.


Under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forestry in partnership with the Province of Tinghir, the Provincial Council of Tinghir, the Communal Council of Kelaa Mgouna, the Grouping of Communes "Al Warda" and local, regional and national partners organised the 57th edition of the International Perfume Rose Show, under the theme : "The perfume rose, a strong springboard for employment and local economic dynamism" which took place from the 24th to the 28th April 2019 in Kelaa Mgouna, Tinghir province.


This Fair is an annual event designed to highlight the Perfume Rose that characterises Kelaa Mgouna as a springboard for employment, contributing to the achievement of a sustainable development of the region by revitalising the region's economy and highlighting the assets it has.


The programme of this four-day edition included a series of activities, including scientific seminars and round tables organised by researchers, academics and experts on various topics related to the development prospects of the Perfume Rose sector, as well as training courses on local products for farmers and cooperatives participating in the exhibition.


It also offered various cultural and artistic activities by organising marathons and a football league, plus competitions in the art of "Taborida" with the participation of teams representing different parts of the kingdom.


This event also aimed to entertain the public with a variety of local, regional and national musical performances, as well as a varied carnival, mixing rhythms, songs and folk dances in a festive atmosphere interspersed with several popular paintings directed by Miss Rose of 2019.
