Dar Si Said Museum

DAR SI SAID MUSEUM

This is a different type of museum which guides one through Moroccan handicrafts via exhibits of woodwork, ceramics, jewellery and other objects made by hand.
It is exhibition of Moroccan decorative arts which highlights the creativity and know-how of the local population.
The museum, inaugurated in 1930, is situated in the former home of Si Said, a 19th century Moroccan minister.
The richly ornamented building is a testament to the domestic architectural art that existed before the establishment of the French protectorate.
At the entrance of the museum, visitors can rest at the foot of the Spanish fountain with its two majestic eagles and their outstretched wings.
