THE SPRING OF RAS EL MAA

It can be said that the spring of Ras el Maa is the cornerstone that led to the construction of the town of Chefchaouen.
This spring was and still is the only source of drinking water for the town.
In the past, it was the source of energy for the water mills that dotted the two banks of the stream.
It also had the merit of irrigating the farms that extended along its flow.
Currently, this spring is managed by the National Office of Drinking Water (ONEP), and it has become a tourist attraction for visitors to the town of Chefchaouen.
