KSOUR DE RISSANI

Rissani, the former capital of Tafilalet, is the wellspring of the Alawite dynasty, from where Moulay Er-Rachid left in 1666 to conquer Morocco and overthrow the Saadian dynasty.
The city of Rissani and its immediate surroundings are home to vestiges of this past time: mausoleums, as well as more than 350 Ksars. These ancient fortified villages enhance the surroundings of Rissani with their presence.
