THE MEDINA OF CHEFCHAOUEN

The Medina of Chefchaouen is a small part of town with a relaxing atmosphere.

Due to its geographical position the town of Chefchaouen and its territory belong to the domain of the Rif mountains.

In the heart of the mountains, the city is both intriguing and picturesque, thanks in particular to its old quarter and its blue houses.

The Medina of Chefchaouen is fairly quiet and small.

Visit the Kasbah gardens and their small museum which houses a small collection of ancient weapons as well as instruments, textiles and some historical photos of the city; there is also an art gallery inside the walls.

Go down to the modern city on a Monday or Thursday to get to know the market where the inhabitants of the mountains in traditional outfits come to offer their products.

Go up to the little Jemaa Bouzafar mosque from Ras el-Maa to see the sunset.
